All parts are welcome
We all have many different parts.
Sometimes they work together, but at other times they push for different things. There may be a part that works relentlessly, a part that wants to please, a part that becomes anxious or overwhelmed—and another that longs to escape it all.
Sometimes, in their efforts to protect us, these parts can become extreme in their roles, driving patterns of behaviour that create tension and exhaustion and, over time, may contribute to burnout.
Rather than treating difficult thoughts, emotions or behaviours as problems to eliminate, the Internal Family Systems Model (“IFS”) invites us to become curious about them. All parts are welcome—including those we find difficult or wish would go away. Even the parts that seem to create tension in our lives are usually trying, in their own way, to protect us.
Beneath our parts is something deeper.
IFS recognises that, beneath the noise and competing demands of our different parts, we each have access to a grounded inner presence known as the Self.
The Self is not another part, nor is it something we need to create. It is the calm, curious, compassionate and courageous centre of who we are- and everyone has it.
By coming to understand the unique fears and intentions of our parts from this place of Self, we can begin to recognise what drives us, release beliefs that no longer serve us, and make choices that reflect who we truly are - rather than who we have learned to be.
How We Will Work Together.
IFS is woven through my coaching, which is rooted in the belief that there is a wellspring of wisdom inside you that already knows what you need.
Our work will be collaborative. I will act as a guide and steady companion, helping you reconnect with your own inner knowing and the grounded presence of Self. As your parts begin to feel this presence, they can soften and relax in their roles, allowing your inner world to settle. From this more grounded and resourced place, you can make changes that are aligned with who you really are and what feels right for you.
Together, we may explore:
The parts of you that feel stuck, anxious or depleted
Patterns of perfectionism, overwork or people-pleasing
Inner conflict around a decision or change
Beliefs you formed in order to feel safe, accepted or successful
What your body and emotions may be communicating
The values, desires and possibilities that feel genuinely yours
What if no part of you needed to be fixed?
Are you ready to make a change?
